Longines Returned to Meydan
The Swiss watch brand and Meydan pillar partner, Longines returned to Meydan Racecourse on for the eighth Racing at Meydan meeting, a six-race card that featured two contests on the turf.
The brand, a major partner of equestrian sport around the world, is proud to put its name behind the eight Racing at Meydan meeting of the 2013/14 season. Highlight of the day was the Longines Column Wheel Chronograph Handicap, run over 1200m. Talented Peter and Olwen Jadlowsky and Cedric Lane from the EERC Syndicate were crowned the winners of this exciting race with the horse Kilt Rock and jockey PJ Dobbs.
Longines is no stranger to Meydan Racecourse, having also kicked off the new Dubai World Cup Carnival season on January 9, 2014. As official timekeeper, the watchmaking brand also has a major presence on the March 29 Dubai World Cup day, the richest day of horseracing in the world, getting behind the high-class Group 1 US$5m Dubai Sheema Classic, presented by Longines.
