Launching of a Long Island 85’

JFA Yachts just launched a Long Island 85’ on Monday, October 23, 2017.

Designed by the Naval Architect Marc Lombard Yacht Design Group, this unit has a new interior design using oak and walnut and it is signed by Darnet Design.

Hulls are built in aluminum whereas superstructures are made in composite and glued together. In order to keep weight low, JFA Yachts is taking care of weight by using light materials for furniture building. The result is a reasonable light displacement of only 60T for an 85’ aluminum cruising catamaran.

The Long Island 85 catamarans are offering a groundbreaking arrangement for this size of boat with the mas- ter cabin on fore wet deck. This cabin offers a panoramic view and direct access on the fore net. Aft, salon offers a 360° view, a helm station, a dining area and a bar. Hulls are fitted with 3 guest cabins, galley and 2 crew cabins.

Carbon mast and boom have been installed within the week.

Sea trials will follow in the coming weeks.
