Vripack at Art Exposition in Beijing

The Vripack Studio participated to the Maritime Art Exposition. AMACEing Beijing brought together a fine collection of Chinese and International maritime art at the Today Art Museum in Beijing, China in combination with a small selection of international Superyacht companies. Curated by Martello Yachting, it provided a deep cultural experience for the invitation only guests.

“Following our Engineering Fantasies theme, we create an Art Installation with our famous mannequins whom all held 3D printed yacht models in their hands”, says Bart Bouwhuis, one of the two creative directors at Vripack. “We partly wrapped the whole booth in sketch paper and inspired them with live sketching. I think everyone that visited the museum made at least ten pictures and immediately started sending them off”

The amount of energy
“It was awesome indeed. We learned so much and made new friends”, continues Marnix Hoekstra, Vripack’s other creative director. “To inspire people with our unique creative expression on yacht design and talk with them about what makes a good design, simply gives an enormous amount of energy. Very fitting to have this first exposition ever in China where of course yachting is so young and fragile.”

A truly amazing experience
“The museum setting allows for more in depth talks and arguments about the core of your work. No one is rushed and you get the change to express yourself fully. A truly amazing experience”, concludes Bart.
