Sanlorenzo signs the agreement for the creation of the “Blue Mile” District

The dynamism and energy that have always set Italian business apart are the factors that over the years have enabled and stimulated the birth and growth of excellent companies now famous all over the world. This creative and productive ferment represents one of the foundations of our industrial districts, home to some of the most important players of Made in Italy. One of these districts is in Liguria, where the yachts and superyachts of Sanlorenzo come to life.

An area of little more than one nautical mile along the Golfo dei Poeti hosts the companies that are the crown jewels of the nautical world. A unique reality that now takes on concrete form thanks to the creation of a new nautical production district, with all the related activities, thanks to the formulation of the agreement “Blue Mile” signed on Monday 8 June at the CAMeC in La Spezia byMassimo Perotti, Executive Chairman of Sanlorenzo, together with the Mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini, the President of the Region Giovanni Toti, and representatives of the leading shipyards of Liguria.

A virtuous system where training, research and industry coexist, aimed at the creation of infrastructures and services to promote the development of this district that constitutes a case of outstanding excellence in the nautical world on an international level, through the activation of synergies between shipyards, universities, the District of Marine Technologies, and the research centers operating in this territory.

“Italy, and this area of Liguria in particular, represent the cutting edge of the international yachting sector. This is the location of our shipyard, alongside other leading manufacturers of yachts and superyachts operating on a worldwide level. A unique phenomenon, envied the world over, and the direct expression of an entrepreneurial spirit that has always been shaped by determination and lively excellence. The creation of the Blue Mile District, besides bearing witness to the rapid restart of the yacht industry in Italy, is further confirmation of the desire to promote and support one of the driving sectors of Made in Italy. An important step, then, not only for our territory but also for our country, to which we are proud to make an active contribution.” – Massimo Perotti, Executive Chairman of Sanlorenzo
