Ribelle cuts a striking figure on the Superyacht cup Palma course

It was the first day of her second ever regatta, and 32.64 metre Ribelle served up Superyacht Cup Palma spectators an impressive sight.
Competing in Class A against fellow Vitters build, Inoui, Ribelle looked cool, calm and collected as she sliced through the waters of the Bay of Palma. The breeze built to approximately 10 knots at the start line with patchy conditions confronting the fleet throughout the afternoon as they took on course 4.

Strikingly-modern Ribelle, which is crafted in carbon and titanium, rounded mark one and two first and proved to all watching she doesn’t just look impressive, she’s got the performance to match. By the finish line she was neck and neck with seasoned campaigner, Inoui, crossing the line just 35 seconds before the 33.4-metre which has become a favourite on the regatta circuit.

Ribelle’s designer, Malcolm McKeon has been excited the yacht’s performance on the course. Her lightweight design, and carbon fibre hull and superstructure were specifically designed to make her a competitive yacht that also exhibits ultra-comfort, and she delivered that in spades with her second placing at her first regatta; the LoroPiana Superyacht Regatta.

“Designed for experienced owners who wanted a performance boat with all the comforts of a world cruising yacht, Ribelle was borne from a considerably larger concept but scaled down to something more manageable,” says her designer, Malcolm McKeon.

“The outcome was a unique looking yacht of which the most striking feature, apart from the vast amount of glass in the deck saloon canopy, is a chine running the entire length of the topsides. Her performance expectations have been met with an excellent second place in her first regatta.”
