New Amels 200 yacht begins outfitting

The yacht is the third build of Tim Heywood’s Amels 200 exterior design following VOLPINI 2 and a new Amels 200 which is now also under construction for spring 2021 delivery.

Construction is proceeding to schedule despite the impact of COVID-19 measures at Amels and Damen Yachting facilities. The yard team is following government guidelines among other steps to reduce contact to a minimum, while all other staff such as designers and engineers are working from home.

“During these challenging times we’ve taken wide-ranging measures at our yards to minimise the impact and spread of the virus,” says Managing Director Rose Damen. “The health and wellbeing of those working at the yard is our top priority. So the arrival of this new hull shows a great determination and adaptability from everyone involved including our suppliers. It gives me a lot of confidence that we will get through this crisis in our industry together.”

The Amels 200 design offers high volume (970 Gross Tonnage) for her 12 guests. The four-deck elevator takes guests up to the air-conditioned gym on Sun Deck. The Amels 200 has hybrid electrical power technology and proven ground-breaking emissions reduction.
