Minister Negueruela presents the most international edition of the Palma International Boat Show with a record number of 270 exhibitors and 600 boats

The Minister for Employment, Commerce and Industry, Iago Negueruela, presented the most international edition of the Palma International Boat Show this morning. The show will open its doors on the 27th of April, at the fair complex in the Moll Vell. This year, the show will feature 270 exhibitors, 10 more than last year, 600 boats, 300 of which will be exhibited on the water, and a total surface area of 81,400 metres squared.

The minister highlighted the increase in the number of international exhibitors at this edition of the show. In total, there will be 51 foreign companies present, 16 more than last year. These figures show the interest roused by Palma International Boat Show overseas.

And we cannot overlook the work carried out by the boat show’s organisers to promote the fair at international events like the Monaco Yacht Show, Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (Miami), METS (Holland) or BOOT (Dusseldorf). All of this further enhances the event’s international character, and helps it become a point of access for many international companies which decide to establish themselves in the Balearics, or for local companies to launch overseas operations thanks to the contacts they have made at the boat show.

The presentation for the Palma International Boat Show, organised by IDI (Balearic Institute for Business Innovation) in collaboration with the Balearic Yacht Destination Association, was attended by the managing director of IDI, Núria Hinojosa; and the president of the AENIB (the Balearic Association of Nautical Companies) Jaume Vaquer.

The fair complex has been reorganised so that it can accommodate a higher number of companies and exhibitor products have been streamlined to allow new brands and companies a chance to take part and to enhance the variety on offer at Palma’s boat show.

It is worth noting that last year the Palma International Boat Show’s exhibition space grew tremendously, especially its sea-based exhibition area, thanks to its new design which included remodelling the exhibition areas with the aim of optimising the space available at the Moll Vell even further. In fact, the 72-metre-long floating bridge which connects Consigna Jetty with Industria Pesquera dock, means that visitors can follow a circular route around the space thereby eliminating any dead areas. Apart from making it easier to visit the entire exhibition, the floating gangway is also another attraction in itself, and offers a different perspective of the Palma International Boat Show and Palma Port.

The organising committee behind the 36th Palma International Boat Show is focusing on improving services for its visitors. This is the first year visitors can buy tickets online and so avoid any queues and enjoy improved access to the fair. Visitors can buy tickets to the Palma Boat Show via the show’s website www.boatshowpalma.com and the platform Mallorca Tickets.

And the new Palma International Boat Show App offers yet another way for visitors to buy tickets. The App offers tickets for the general public and professionals alike.

The new App also makes it possible for the boat show’s visitors and exhibitors to check the latest news and highlights, access a map of the fair or a list of exhibitors, and receive notifications featuring all the latest news and activities taking place during the show, all from the comfort of their smart phone.
