A Special Mention at the German Design Awards for SWIM, the custom handle the Sori company created specifically for Majesty Yachts.
The SWIM handle has attracted the attention of the jury of the prestigious German Design Council which has presented its German Design Awards to the most original and innovative German and international industrial designs since 1953. Created by F.lli Razeto e Casareto specifically for the Emirates-based shipyard, Gulf Craft, which has begun installing it on their superyacht Majesty 140. The SWIM received a Special Mention from the German Design Awards as it is a custom-made, limited-run artistic object created using all available technology by a company for which innovation is a constant.
The SWIM is a sculpted crystal handle that just a few months ago triumphed in the Architectural Hardware category of the 2018 Yacht & Aviation Awards.
SWIM is inspired by the Free Go line of multifunctional handles with interchangeable grips that F.lli Razeto e Casareto S.p.A also offers in luminous versions. SWIM particularly references the CULT collection of sculptural door handles hand made by Giangi Razeto. The signature there is, of course, the handles’ soft fluid lines. “A flow of water that runs over metal to create the shape of a mermaid”. This artistic interpretation is combined with luminous handle technology which has safety, management and entertainment functions and can also be integrated with onboard domotics on any boat.
