Porto Montenegro unveils exciting new season

This summer season at Porto Montenegrois, arguably, the busiest and most vibrant ever as the multi-award-winning luxury yacht homeport and marina village in Tivat announces a lively calendar of events for the upcoming months.

“Porto Montenegro’s achievements over the past decade set the precedent for the next 10 years and beyond, kick-starting with summer 2018 which is set to be the most  exciting  and  dynamic  season  yet”,  said  Tony  Browne,  Marina  Director  at  Porto  Montenegro. “This  summer,  we  welcome  a  whole  calendar  of  events  and  regattas  which  are  firmly  in  the  diary”.

Vibrant and Buzzing

An exciting concert  is planned for 26 June where one of the finest international string quartets of its generation will perform on the patio of the Naval Heritage Collection museum.

On 7 July, the village will welcome the 6th edition of the Super Wine Festival. Gathering together supreme wineries from across the Balkans and throughout Europe, the festival is the perfect occasion for sampling prestigious local wines, such as Castel Savina or Plantaze.

This year, the International Fashion  Festival will be held at Porto Montenegro for the first time ever, bringing industry leading luxury and street wear brands to the village from 23-29 July. The spotlight then moves to the sea for the Motor  Yacht  Rally,  scheduled  for  8-13  August,  where  powerboats  will  cruise  along  the  UNESCO-protected  Boka  Bay,  bringing  excitement  to  the  waterfront.

Art enthusiasts  can  revel  in  a  number  of  exhibitions  at  the  Naval  Heritage  Collection museum  this  summer.  Works will  showcase  the  masterpieces  of  Adriatic  marine  photographers,  Montenegrin,  Serbian  and  Croatian  painters  and  sculptors,  and  Italian artists  and  luxury  shoemakers.  Also,  the  ex-Yugoslav,  50-metre  Hero  submarine,  now  part  of  the  Naval  Heritage  Collection,  will  celebrate  its  50thanniversary,  with  a  jazz  concert  marking  the  occasion.

In  addition,  the  vibrant  summer  calendar  will  bring  a  host  of  parties,  sailing  regattas  and  croquet  competitions  to  the  village  social  scene,  not  to  mention  the  broadcasting  of  World  Cup  2018  matches  on  panoramic  screens  throughout  the village,  hosting  of  outdoor  yoga  classes  and  themed  degustation  dinners  at  Regent’s  fine  dining  restaurant.

It  is  no  secret  that  Porto  Montenegro’s  2018  summer season  will  be  a  truly  special  one,  amplifying  the  status  of  this  new  European  luxury  hotspot  in  upward  fashion.

The  perfect  place  to  start  discovering  Montenegro–the  top  hot  spot  2018

In  a  globalized  world  in  which  many  wonders  have  become  commercialised  and  somewhat  spoiled  by  humankind,  it  is  difficult  to  believe  that  there  are  still  hidden  gems  tucked  away  on  the  Adriatic  coast.  If you are  looking  for  a  place  to  spend  your  time  this  summer  (or  any  season  for  that  matter),  consider  Porto  Montenegro  in  Tivat,  which  has  quickly  become  the  world’s  most  prestigious  superyacht  marina and  yet  remains  humbly  underrated.

Since  declaring  independence  in  2006,  Montenegro has  enjoyed  a  development  boom,  particularly  on  the  tourism  front,  with  greater  numbers  of  visitors  and  varied  investments  driving  the  country’s  financial  climate.  Porto  Montenegro  was the  first  investment  of  its  kind,  founded  in  2010  in  the  heart  of  the  UNESCO  protected  Boka  Bay.  The  state-of-the-art  facility  houses  more  than  two  hundred  luxury  apartments,  restaurants,  bars  and  its  own  on-site  international  school.  What’s  more,  at  the  centre  of  the  village  is  an  amazing  shopping  complex  with,  arguably,  the  most  exclusive  selection  of  fashion  brands  in  the  Balkans,  not  forgetting  the  Five-Star  Regent  Hotel  with  over  80  luxury  suites.

Porto  Montenegro  is  a  perfect  base  for  exploring  wider  Montenegro,  situated  nearby  three  international  airports  -the  capital,  Podgorica,  Croatian  Dubrovnik,  where  The  Game  of  Thrones  was  filmed,  and  of  course,  Tivat,  a  mere  five-minute  drive  from  the  marina.  Great  things  come  in  small  packages,  and  this  is  certainly  true  of Montenegro.  The country  is  so  compact  that  it  takes  no  more  than  a  couple  of  hours  to  get  to  any  of  the  major  sights.

For nature-lovers,  there  is  Durmitor  National  Park,  home  to  the  second  deepest  canyon  in  the  world,  and  Lake  Skadar,  the  largest  freshwater  lake  on  the  Balkan  Peninsula.  Experience the  historical  sentiment  of  Montenegro  in  the  old  Venetian  town  of  Kotor  and  the  Church  of  the  Lady  on  the  Rocks,  located  on  a  tiny  little  islet  off  the  shore  of  the  small  coastal  village  of  Perast.  Finish off  your  day’s  adventures  with  treatments  at  the  Regent  Spa,  leaving  you  refreshed  for  another  day  of  new  discoveries.
