Mangusta 165 Hull No. 11

Mangusta 165 Hull No. 11
A 50 metre semi-custom model had never been such a resounding success, making Mangusta 165 an icon destined to last over the years and a milestone in nautical history.
This pretigious result is due to the Overmarine Group’s consistent ability to look ahead and develop and evolve a model which has been a success ever since her debut. It’s the crowning of continous research and innovation in both technology and style with the ain of guaranteeing quality, excellence and wellbeing on board and, more recently, with a specific attention on comsumption and stability, both at anchor and underway, whilst still maintaining the style and technical/technology values of the traditon.

Mangusta 165 E hull no. 11 – “E” stands for “Evolution”, the name of the current model – features all the most recent style and technical innovations.
The new aesthetic translate into more aggressive, muscular lines, the large window on the main deck – a unique pane of glass in the salon area whih offers excellent visibility from the inside and allows copious amounts of natural light in, and the longer flybridge, featuring an attractive grill astern which gives this yacht even greater dynamic drive.
The power train privides for 4 2600 HP MTU 16V2000 M94 engines with 4 rolls Royce/Kamewa NP waterjets and 4 Seakeeper stabilisers.
As the new engines (2000 series) are lighter than the previous ones used (4000 series), there is less weight in movement, with installed power which is almost unchanged. Consequently, the weight/power ratio value of the engine package is excellent for reaching the preset aims.
Being last generation, they are more efficient too and their functionality is modular on request. The water jets are also more efficient as they feature a renewed design which offers a better performance and greater yield. The results is that the performance is similar to the one attained in the past, but consumption is considerably lower: at 20 and at 30 knots, it is 35% less.
The space in the engine room has been optimised, making room for installation of 4 stabilisers for stabilising the yacht both at anchor and underway. The effectiveness of this systemn is just as good during cruising that makes it possible to use this modeal as a displacement yacht, at an idle speed of 8-10 knots, in complete comfort, expanding the range of speed at which she can be used enormously.

There are also new technological gadgets on board, such as the dynamic positioning. This feature makes it possible to keep the yacht still in a selected GPS positon without having to anchor her. The system acts on the effect of the tide, the wind and the current by simple combining the direction and thrust.

Francesco Frediani, Group Commercial Director is extremely satisfied, commenting:”This is the secont Mangusta 165 E (E stands for Evolution) we’ve sold this year. This confirms the success of this model, which is unique in terms of her performance and characteristics, thanks to her high technical content, exceptional onboard comfort and ability to stir up emotions in those aboard.”
She will be ready at the beginning of 2017.
